オックスフォード、ケンブリッジ、インペリアルや伊藤 博文らが学んだUCLは魅力的だが、残念ながら高校3年で応募する資格がない。アメリカと違い何かと面倒だ。では全く不可能かと言えば、例外はある。UCLのFoundation Courseで1年間勉強し、成績が良ければUCLに入学できる。
UCL Undergraduate Preparatory Certificates (UPC)が、それだ。理系の Engineering、Life Sciences 、Mathematics、Physical Sciences.希望の人はUCL Undergraduate Preparatory Certificate for Science and Engineering (UPCSE)に応募する事になる。 もっともUPC entranceという試験を受験し 英語の interviewを受けなければならないので、一般の高校生には無理がある。
高校を卒業してしまった浪人生は応募できないかもしれない・・・・。
You will be 16 years of age or older at the start of the course
You will be in the last year of high school (at the time of application)
You will be graduating from high school with a qualification which is not considered for direct entry onto a UCL undergraduate degree programme.
なお、IELTSを受験し５．５以上の成績をとる必要がある。ＴＯＥＦＬはiBT７２でよい。
