下記はHigh SchoolのPhysicsの英文だが、この文章は文法的に難しいところは何もない。
Most definitions of quantum theory and quantum mechanics offer the same description for both.
These definitions essentially describe quantum theory as a theory in which both energy and matter have characteristics of waves under some conditions and characteristics of particles under other conditions.

しかし、英検一級、TOEIC990、TOEFLiBT100の英語力があっても物理の基礎知識がないと理解できないのではないだろうか？そうなると、英文法の知識があるかないかの問題ではなくなってくる。理系の中高生は、将来、英語の論文を読むようになるのは確実だから、中高生の段階でこのような英文が読めるような教育を受ける必要があると思う。しかし、今の学校の英語の授業の教材、内容は幼児レベルなので、その必要性に応えていない。
発展途上国のエリート中高生は、多くの場合、英語でサイエンスの教育を受けている。日本のエリート中高生は、「英語でサイエンスを理解する能力」に関しては、それらの発展途上国の中高生の足元にも及ばないのである。日本の高校生は何かといえば「東大よりハーバード」と言うが、そのハーバードのGraduate Studentsはアングロサクソン系の名前はほとんど見当たらない。ほぼ全て、中国を含む発展途上国の出身者と思しき名前ばかりだ。
従って理系の中高生は学校の英語などボイコットすべきなのである。時間の無駄だ。その代わり自力で、英語の化学、物理、生物のの教科書を読むべきなのである。教材はck12やKhan Academyなどいくらでもある。
