「うちの大学にはノーベル賞受賞者がおおぜおいる」という自慢をする大学がありますが、実は、その受章者は別の大学を卒業している、という場合が多くUCLAは、そういう大学の一つです。
一方、University of Wisconsin-Madisonは1944年以降、その大学で学び(修士、博士を含む)、その後ノーベル賞を受賞した者の人数が何と13名もいます。
