日本の大学入学共通テストを受けて、さらに個別の大学入試を受ける。これは異常である。この異常なシステムに日本中の高校生が押し潰されている。
高校の成績が良く、家庭が比較的裕福なら、という条件がつくが、そのアホらしさ、ばからしさから逃げ出す方法がある。
例えば九大・北大レベルを目指しているならIndiana University Bloomingtonに応募するのである。
アメリカのIndiana University Bloomingtonは世界ランキング１６７位、全米ランキング６８位の名門大学だが合格率は全体で８５％だ。日本の高校生でも、学校の成績が良いならすんなり合格できる可能性は高いはずだ。

世界大学ランキングでの上位と言えるのは旧帝大でも東大、京大かろうじて東北大、阪大、名大の４大学だけで北大、九大の凋落ぶりが痛々しい。

北大や九大はこれだけ落ちぶれても入試を行い、入学者を厳選しているわけで受験生はせっせと受験勉強に励んでいる。
特定分野は優れているはずだから一概に決めつけるわけにもいかないが、めでたく合格したところで、教育の内容・質は大学全体では世界ランキング５０１位のレベルしかない。受験勉強に追われることに意義があるのか？
